Uplifting lives with compassion — through nutrition, legal support, and emotional wellbeing.
At Anwari Khanam Welfare Society, we are committed to uplifting lives through impactful and compassionate services. From providing essential nutrition and legal support to promoting mental and emotional wellbeing, our initiatives are designed to support individuals and families in need. Explore our services below to see how we are making a difference in the community.

Each year during the holy month of Ramadan, AKWS conducts a large-scale ration distribution programme. Curated ration packages — containing staple foodstuffs sufficient for a family unit for the full Ramadan period — are procured, quality-checked, and distributed to pre-identified low-income households through a beneficiary verification process. Logistics are coordinated by the Public Coordinator and field volunteers under the authority of the General Secretary.

The Daily Lunch Dastarkhwan is AKWS's flagship community service — a structured nutritional support programme providing hot, balanced meals to indigent and vulnerable individuals on a daily basis throughout the calendar year. As the Society's most continuous and visible programme, it represents AKWS's primary commitment to the welfare of Lahore's most underserved residents. The programme operates under a logistics framework ensuring consistent supply-chain management, food safety compliance, and dignified distribution protocols.

The Free Dispensary was one of AKWS's foundational initiatives, providing free consultations, basic medical check-ups, and essential medicines to individuals and families who could not afford medical treatment. Operated at permanent sites in Johar Town and Shahdrah, it served as the institutional proof-of-concept for the Society's broader welfare vision.
This programme has since been discontinued. AKWS has redirected its resources toward the Daily Lunch Dastarkhwan, which now provides 250+ hot meals every day to Lahore's most vulnerable residents.

Supplementary mental health support and counseling services for individuals dealing with trauma, addiction, or behavioral challenges — building emotional resilience in our communities through individual counseling, group therapy sessions, family support programs, and rehabilitation guidance.
The President emphasizes the importance of ensuring high-quality healthcare facilities for all patients. A strong focus is placed on providing timely treatment, accurate diagnosis, and compassionate care to every individual, regardless of their financial condition.
Healthcare professionals are encouraged to maintain the highest standards of medical practice while ensuring accessibility and dignity for patients in need. The commitment to improving patient well-being through dedicated service and professional excellence remains a core priority. Through collective efforts, the goal is to create a reliable and caring healthcare environment that truly serves the community.

In 2022, as catastrophic floods devastated communities across Balochistan and wider Pakistan, AKWS demonstrated its capacity for high-impact institutional collaboration by entering into a Memorandum of Understanding with Vaseela-e-Raah, the flagship humanitarian initiative led by distinguished Pakistani artist and philanthropist Hadiqa Kiani. As a trusted institutional partner in this alliance, AKWS brought its organisational infrastructure, accountability frameworks, and coordination capabilities to bear on one of Pakistan's most significant contemporary relief efforts.
The collaboration yielded transformative, long-term rehabilitation outcomes in Tamboo and Kundi villages, Balochistan — including the construction of over 370 permanent homes, a primary school, two maternity clinics, two mosques, and the installation of solar energy systems and water filtration infrastructure to ensure sustainable community recovery. Complementing this structural rehabilitation, the joint effort mobilised and delivered critical immediate relief, encompassing tents, food rations, medicines, and anti-snake venom to thousands of affected households across Balochistan and South Punjab.
This partnership stands as a defining chapter in AKWS's institutional legacy — evidencing the Society's readiness to operate at scale, engage in high-profile national collaborations, and deliver measurable humanitarian impact under demanding conditions.
