A registered social welfare institution in Lahore, dedicated to supporting disadvantaged populations through nutrition, legal protection, and psychosocial care.
The Anwari Khanam Welfare Society operates as a registered social welfare institution in Lahore, Pakistan, focused on supporting disadvantaged populations through multiple service channels.
We are committed to providing nutritional support, legal advocacy, and community rehabilitation services to underserved populations across Lahore — supporting Pakistan's underprivileged through nutritional aid, pro bono legal services, and behavioural rehabilitation.
The organization structures its work around three main service areas that reinforce one another.
Daily meal distribution (Dastarkhwan) and annual Ramadan food assistance for vulnerable populations.
Pro bono legal representation for marginalized individuals who cannot afford justice.
Behavioral wellness and psychosocial support through a dedicated Behavioural Health & Rehabilitation department.
"Supporting Pakistan's underprivileged through nutritional aid, pro bono legal services, and behavioural rehabilitation."
A Pakistan where every individual has access to basic nutrition, legal justice, and mental health support regardless of their economic status.
AKWS evolved from its foundational model operating free medical dispensaries in Johar Town and Shahdrah. The organization transitioned from direct healthcare provision toward a broader multi-disciplinary welfare framework addressing nutrition, legal protection, and psychosocial support.
These dispensaries served as the institutional proof-of-concept for AKWS's broader social welfare vision and established the Society's credibility within Lahore's underserved communities.

In 2022, AKWS collaborated with Vaseela-e-Raah — the flagship humanitarian initiative led by philanthropist Hadiqa Kiani — on flood relief, contributing to the reconstruction of over 370 homes, schools, clinics, and infrastructure in Balochistan villages. This partnership evidences the Society's readiness to operate at scale and deliver measurable humanitarian impact under demanding conditions.
